Is anyone getting a discount on food for ordering on the Kiosk? Nope. Not put people into poverty and make it impossible for them to survive. Technology is supposed to serve mankind, and make life easier for people, or help employees be more productive. This is technology declaring people obsolete. ![]() Thanks to kiosks that take orders at fast food joints, good luck getting that $15/hour now that one is out of work. Self-serve checkout lanes at grocery stores are created with the purpose of people cannot work as a cashier again. The autonomous car is purposely created to make sure people cannot work as a driver again. Now technology is used to purposely make people obsolete. The remaining employees became much more valuable because their productivity went up. Yes, some people lost their jobs, but not everyone did, because we still need people to do data entry, in all job levels. Technologies were developed that reduced the workload of people who were working very hard and enabled them to work smarter.įor example, when technology progressed from manual typewriters, to automatic typewriters to word processors, this made employees more productive.
